Lieut. Victor Vivian Johnston, R.A.N.R. was born at Brisbane in 1905. He went to sea in the merchant service and was serving with the Adelaide' Steamship Co. at the outbreak of war. He joined the Royal Australian Naval Reserve in November, 1939, and was appointed to the Parramatta in June, 1940.
