Mrs. E. Anderson, of James street, Franklin, has received notice that her son, F.O. Charles Beatty Anderson. DFC, has been posted missing as the result of air operations on July 29-30. After taking part in a raid on Stettin on April 20. F.O. Anderson, with a wounded thigh, navigated his crippled Lancaster 700 miles on three engines. F.O. Anderson, who is 26, was a railway clerk at Port Lincoln before he enlisted in the RAAF in September. 1941.

Flying Officer David Anderson, son of Mrs Anderson and the late Mr Alfred Anderson, of Thomas st, Kew, has been reported missing in air operations oversea. He was educated at Scotch College, and had completed his third year of the mechanical engineering course at Melbourne University when he joined the RAAF. He was called up in June, 1941, and completed his training in Australia, going oversea in November last.
