Naval Headquarters to-day confirmed that on January 1 , the small vessel H.M.A.S. Alatna while being towed by the destroyer H.M.A.S. Quick Match, was rammed by an Allied merchant ship off the northern tip of Borneo. After the accident, Able-bodied seaman Raymond G.Dodgson of Goodwood Park, S.A., was missing.

Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Dodgson, of Goodwood Park, have received advice that their son, Ordinary Seaman Raymond G. Dodgson is presumed to have lost his life on January 1 while serving on HMAS Alatna. OS Dodgson was educated on the West Coast and later at the Goodwood High School. Prior to enlistment he was employed by Richards Industries Ltd. He would have been 19 on January 2.

NAVAL MEN MISSING

PERTH, Monday. — Despite an extensive search to-day, no trace was found of two naval men missing from a yacht which capsized off Woodman's Point at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. It is feared that Petty Officer William Johnson, 35 years, married and Ronald S. Doust, 18 years, were drowned, in attempting to swim four miles to shore.
