Mechanician Donald George Brown, of Goodwood road, Colonel Light Gardens, joined the Navy 7½ years ago at the age of 19, and
has served in the Canberra, Stuart, Brisbane and Australia. Before joining the Perth last Christmas he completed a mechanician's course at Flinders Naval Depot and graduated from the rank of petty officer.
Mech. Brown, who is aged 27, was educated at the Adelaide High School. He was a keen hockey player and a member of the Seacliff lifesaving team. His wife and 18-month-old son live at Thomas street, Unley.
