NAVAL MAN MISSING
Ordinary Seaman J. R. Keegan, elder son of Mr and Mrs John Keegan, Fisher st. East Malvern, has been reported missing as result of naval operations near Java. Born at Armadale in 1921, he enlisted in the RAN in December, 1940, and trained at Port Melbourne and Flinders Depots. Before going abroad in January he was on coastal duty. He was educated at St Mary's, East Malvern, and was in the employ of Stockland Press. He was a member of Sandringham Amateur Athletic Club and played with 3KZ (junior amateur) and Carnegie (senior) teams.
