Informal portrait of 425073 Sergeant, later Pilot Officer (PO), Henry St George Thompson, RAAF, of Corinda, Qld. PO Thompson, who enlisted in Brisbane, Qld, on 7 December 1941, was accidentally killed, with other members of the crew of an Avro Anson aircraft, while attached to RAF Station West Freugh, Scotland, on 30 December 1943. He was 26 years old.

Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Tippett, of Paxton-street, have been advised that their youngest son, Geoffrey, who obtained his wings in Australia, has been killed in an aircraft accident in England. Completing his training in Australia, the young airman left with a number of other pilots for England, travelling across America and arrived in England last July. The message states the aircraft was on a non-operational flight when the craft hit a cliff, on the night of December 30. Deceased had one brother in the A.I.F. who is a prisoner of war in Malaya, while another brother is in the R.A.A.F.
